About Me

Hey, you’ve found me! I am Suraida, a Malaysian who calls London home. Welcome to my blog. I appreciate you dropping by – it means the world to me. Join me on my life’s adventure, home and away.

What’s with the blog’s name?

Domestic: I am a homey person, simple as that. I’d be perfectly content to stay at home on weekends with a good book in hand. Or cook meals and bake cakes. House chores are ok, just don’t ask me to do the ironing!

But don’t get mistaken.

This blog is not to journal my “adventures” through matrimonial bliss. No. No. I’m SINGLE. WITH NO KIDS. Where is my Mr. Right?! I am convinced that he lost his way trying to find me. And doesn’t have a GPS with him. Life goes on…and anyway, being single doesn’t mean I am alone.

On the opposite end, there’s also the Adventurer: Well, at least that’s what I’d like to think I am. Growing up, we went on family trips as often as we could. When we were living in the US for a few years when my late dad did his post-grad there, we went on road trips every single school break so that we could see as many places as possible. I was in grade school then. We often opted the camp sites and chose tents and sleeping bags over hotels and comfortable beds. My 7 year old self thought it was super cool.

Fast forward many years later, I still can’t shake off the travel bug. Does it ever go away? I doubt it.

So I try to squeeze in a few adventures here and there in between my life as an auditor.

About this blog

That’s just it, DomesticeAdventurer – it’s what the name says. It’s a place for me to jot down little things in life that I am passionate about: Travel.Eats.Beauty. At times, I may just type random thoughts.

Join me on my adventures (and misadventures) in my little kitchen in my quest to become a domestic goddess. Follow me on my voyages to conquer the globe: see new places, get an introduction to new cultures and lifestyles. I often find that through my travels, I learn a little bit more about myself. Travel  enriches my life and is addicting as hell. I love it!

And Beauty? Why not?

My photography

If you’ve seen my posts, you will notice that they are photo heavy. I love photography and I’m always trying to improve on my skills. I am not formally trained though. I guess I should enroll on a course, but trying to find time to commit is a different story.

At the moment I am using Canon 80D for most of my shots when I am travelling and have the will to haul my gadgets around. Other times the photos are shot on my iphone.

I take most of the photos on this blog.

Let’s be friends

If you happen to stumble across my blog and took the time to read my posts, I hope you enjoyed it. Do come back. I also hope that I have inspired you in a positive way, however small it may be.
