Happy New Year 2016

2016 is here.

In the capital, Big Ben struck midnight, followed by cheers from the crowd and a spectacular display of firework to celebrate the new year.

2015 has had its share of ups and downs. Atuk passed away – I say a silent prayer for you atuk and for ayah too. I miss you. For myself, there were a few wins, some losses, mistakes made and achievements celebrated. My life’s a journey and I hope that yesterday made me a stronger and wiser person to face tomorrow.

Around the world, many events took place. Amongst the headlines: the tragic Charlie Hebdo shooting rampage in January, the total solar eclipse in March, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked Nepal, killing thousands in April, a royal birth in May, the Tunisia beach resort rampage in June, the Tianjin Twin blast in August, a dead toddler found on the shores of Turkey in September that accentuated the Syrian refugee crisis, All Blacks won the RWC, NASA confirmed there is water on Mars all the way to Donald Trump’s controversial statement on banning Muslims from entering the US.

The curtains have already come down for 2015. The memories remain. Let’s hope for a better tomorrow.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,

For auld lang syne,

We’ll tak o cup o’kindness yet,

For auld lang syne.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
