Dinner in Reykjavik

I spent the period between xmas and new year last year in Iceland trying to chase the Northern lights. I was both lucky and unlucky at the same time – all the Northern Lights tours were cancelled due to unfavorable weather but I did manage to see one right in the city centre. Sadly, the color display was not that great, but still, it was better than nothing!

Here, I am having dinner at Laekjarbrekka restaurant. The building was converted from a house built in the 1800s. In this picture, you would see me eating artic char. But our meal started off with taster plates: hákarl aka fermented shark, minke whale tataki and wind dried fish and crunchy icelandic seaweed.

I hope I don’t ever have to eat hákarl again!
